iPhone 4 Now Unlocked, Welcome Back UltraSn0w

A grand week for iPhone 4 users out there. First a jailbreak and now unlocking via ultrasn0w which can be found in Cydia. If you can’t locate it, no big, just add repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia. If you can’t figure that out then go back to being apple and at&t’s slave with your lame useless iPhone and continue to pay for your tethering like a corporate drone. Look it up in a forum. Check the video of this simple task after the break.

Jailbreak Me Now Available For iPhone 4

iPhone 4 and iPad, welcome to the jailbreak party. Now users of the iPhone 4 and iPad can feel just as vindicated and freed from the oppression that is apple/at&t and stick it to them as well as those who think their shitty app is worth your $4.99 (installous anyone?). This doesn’t come with out consequences. Apparently according to several reports, MMS and facetime stop working on the iPhone 4 after you jailbreak it. The iPad also has it’s share of problems. One more note. If you are running iOS 4.1 beta, you can not use this jailbreak. Bummer. Hit the jump to find the solutions for these pesky issues and check out a video.

Happy Birthday Tim Simon

Don’t think he saw this one coming but Happy Birthday to Tim Simon of the Tim Simon show. Won’t tell you how old he is (and man he’s OOOOOLD) but I will tell you that on this day, he came out of his mother’s womb with a microphone in his hand, commentating on everything from our government to the ugly mug of the doctor that delivered him.

Happy birthday man, enjoy it!

PS: Yes, I-phone cake is prob more Matt’s style, but after looking on Google Images for an hour, I got tired of debating what to use.

PS3 Hacked But Is Trackable

Source

Coming in from various sites this weekend it is confirmed that the PS3 was indeed hacked by a simple USB device that would allow you to play back up copies stored on the hard drive.

Sony has now commented on the situation saying that not only is it detectable but will result in many bans to come if people are found to be using such a device.

The Tim Simon Show for 8/10/2010

On the Tuesday edition of The Tim Simon Show, we discuss Google and Verizon’s vision of Net Neutrality, how gold became a business so big, it’s (literally) criminal, and the shift from the information age to the affirmation age. That’s tonight on the Tim Simon Show, WMMM NetRadio…because we can.

Jailbreak/Rooting No Longer Illegal in the US

Yes a victory for cell phone nerds around the US. Jailbreaking your iphone or rooting your android device will no longer result in possible jail time or lawsuit, just recently announced under the DMCA. Jailbreaking(iphone OS) or rooting (android or web OS) usually refers to the circumventing (hacking) of an OS to install legally obtained software that is otherwise blocked by the manufacturer, such as installing google voice on an iphone. Basically you’re unlocking the OS so you can install software that a phone manufacturer doesnt want you installing on their OS. Just a side note, Apple was quick to comment saying that “jailbreaking your iphone will still void your warrenty”. We are still waiting on AT&T to start crying like a bunch of 2 year olds.

Goldeneye Returns

Yes Goldeneye is returning, minus pierce Brosnan, and adding Daniel Craig in his place, (sorry Mr. Brosnan, but Craig is just a much better Bond than you). An exclusive for the wii, it hopes to bring back the 8 hours of consecutive gameplay that people like me use to take part in during the Nintendo 64 era. Not saying that no one spends hours upon hours consecutively playing the wii (although I sure as hell don’t.the jaggies make my eyes bleed looking at it for long periods of time). This game however, as long as it lives up to expectations will do just that. I’ll play that damn thing all day long. Goldeneye was a staple of its day, and still holds up to this very day as a fun game to play. I to this day still play it every now and them(so do my friends), and that really says a lot for this game. It also set the bar for the FPS genre. It was the game everyone else looked at, and said “but does it play like goldeneye?” You can bet this will be at the top of my list when it drops November 2nd. Peep the trailer after the break.

Facebook Removes Profile Apps

Haven’t seen any other sites reporting on this, so I figured I’d chime in. In what appears to be an invisible change, Facebook has opted to remove ALL profile apps from publishing material directly into the profile framework. What this means? It means that your drinking app that counted how man beers you sent to friends is now gone, the little Castle Age link you probably had on your side bar is now gone and in my case, the defining moment in my life, the moment I was called Jean Luc Picard… All gone!
